Liu Qinghua, deputy general manager and technical director of Hangzhou Xiangyu Textile Flame Retardant, focused on the application of "flame-retardant textiles in fire protection" in the CFIC2016 building fire-retardant breakout session. Today I share with you the application of flame retardant textile products in fire protection.
First of all, the relationship between fire protection and flame retardant, flame retardant is to give the material non-combustible or flame retardant characteristics, fundamentally prevent the material from being ignited by the fire source and delay the speed of flame propagation, to prevent the occurrence of malignant fires. I think this is an active behavior. As the teacher Zhou Zhengyi proposed in the morning, the flame retardant should complement the firefighting.
Our Hangzhou Xiangyu started relatively early in the field of flame retardant textiles. In 2009, the State promulgated the "Fire Protection Law of the People's Republic of China". The "Fire Law" clearly stipulates that non-combustible and flame-retardant flame retardant materials must be used. In the same year, GA836-2009 "Fire Regulations for Construction Project Acceptance Assessment" requires that the textile materials used in public places must be flame retardant and fireproof. Based on this opportunity, Xiangyu Company is committed to research and development of fire retardant materials for public places.
According to statistics, in 2015, more than 300,000 fires occurred nationwide, and direct economic losses were 3.95 billion. Behind these huge and terrible data, the vicious fire caused by the burning of textiles accounts for a large proportion. We look at the vicious fire incidents such as the fire in Henan nursing homes. The flame retardant products used in building decoration are often not flame retardant or fireproof, which leads to the uncontrollable fire and the inevitable escape of personnel. This shows that the development and production of flame retardant, low-smoke, non-toxic, environmentally friendly flame retardant textiles is essential.
The flame retardant textile products currently on the market are mainly produced by copolymerization blending and post-treatment using flame retardants. Our Hangzhou Xiangyu is made into a permanent intrinsic flame-retardant textile material by chemical copolymerization and molecular modification. It is different from textile products that have been fire-retardant after finishing. There will be no problems in the process of use, such as not feeling good and smelling. Category. The permanent flame retardant textile material is resistant to water washing, emits very little smoke, does not produce harmful gases, and is environmentally friendly and healthy. Moreover, our appearance is no different from ordinary flame retardant products, easy to dye, will not fade, and does not contain formaldehyde.
Flame-retardant textiles are used in a wide range of applications. For example, curtains for home decoration, home cloth, sofa seat cloth, medical curtains for hospitals, and high-speed rails, ships, airplane curtains, sunshades, seat cloths, and other industries in the transportation field. In the field, our products from Hangzhou Xiangyu are involved.
We did the following set of comparative tests. In two identical rooms, one uses ordinary curtain fabrics, and the other uses Hangzhou Xiangyu permanent flame-retardant curtain fabric, which is lit with the same fire source, and the right side is soon burned out. However, once the flame retardant product leaves the fire source, it will self-extinguish, which will not cause a malignant fire accident, and the flame retardant effect is very obvious.
At present, Xiangyu products are widely used in the field of public transportation, especially in the application of passenger car interior materials. At the same time, Hangzhou Xiangyu also participated in the drafting of the new standard "Combustion Characteristics of Passenger Car Interior Materials". The new standard has greatly improved the requirements for the flame retardant performance of passenger car interior materials. There are also home fabrics, decorative fabrics in public places, such as wall coverings, curtain fabrics and carpets.
This is a duct fabric, which is applied to the central air-conditioning air supply system in large public places. I just said that it has good superiority. Unlike traditional iron pipes, we can achieve functions such as flame retardant, antibacterial and anti-mildew. . At present, the central air-conditioning ducts in foreign countries are made of advanced flame-retardant fire-retardant fabrics to ensure the uniformity of air supply, and the air supply volume in each place is controllable.
The seat of the theater. We now have some cooperation with Wanda Cinema, especially in Hangzhou and Nanjing. We have already cooperated with them in batch replacement, and all require fire-retardant home sofa seat fabrics.
Next are some of our actual engineering cases. For example, in the G20 summit, the national leadership reception hotel - Xiziguo Hotel, which is also the interior materials provided by us; Beijing Tsinghua Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Hangzhou Xiangyu provides flame retardant Antibacterial medical curtain. There is also the largest reproductive maternity hospital in Hebei, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Tianjin.
We have encountered some problems in the popularization of flame retardant textile products.
First, for example, there are still many people who do not know that there are permanent flame retardant textile products, and even some people who sell cloth for many years and fire detection stations do not understand flame retardant fabrics. Flame-retardant products also need to be promoted more vigorously, popularize people's knowledge of fire-retardant and fire-retardant, and let the use of flame-retardant materials become a conscious action of people, so that flame-retardant materials are widely used, and fire prevention is largely in place.
Second, compared with ordinary products, flame-retardant textile products are expensive in terms of cost, and it is necessary to continuously develop new flame-retardant products suitable for market demand to meet people's needs for life production.
Third, the market still uses a large number of flame-retardant textile products through post-finishing methods. The textile products are not washable, environmentally friendly, and the production costs are high.
The flame retardant and environmental protection properties of halogen-free essential flame retardant polymer materials have reached a new height.
