Relative to the foreign packaging industry, China's current paper packaging companies are mostly small in size, with an annual output of 20 million square meters, not many companies, most companies under 10 million square meters, a relatively single cartons, most of the original Bull card boxes, coated white kraft carton just started, and the quality of the carton is not high, fruit and vegetable packaging boxes can not achieve preservation, water resistance, anti-mildew effect. The materials used in the domestic carton are limited to white and white boards, and the white, color and glass cards commonly used in foreign countries are used less in China. E, F, G, and N micro-corrugated cardboard are used in carton production. There are not many applications. In terms of product quality and grade, China's corrugated cartons are of relatively few varieties and have a low grade, which makes it difficult to compete with foreign packaging paper products.
In terms of production and import, corrugated paper has been relatively optimistic in recent years. In 2000, it produced 5.5 million tons, of which 1.5 million tons were high-strength parts; in 2000, the import volume was 1.3068 million tons, an increase of 20.15% over the previous year. It is the fastest-growing variety in imported products. At present, the corrugated paper used domestically still requires high imports of high-strength paper. Judging from the consumption trend of corrugated board, the usage of A楞 in China will show a steady growth trend, while the current market is dominated by B楞 and C楞, and microwatts have not yet started. In addition, it is estimated that the corrugator market in mainland China will develop toward low-quantity, high-intensity, multi-specification, and strive toward lighter weight.
Second, the development and trend of corrugated paper in China Corrugated board production and a country's economic growth has a very close relationship, the growth rate of paper machine production and demand is one of the country's economic indicators. In general, the growth of the paper machine market in various countries is basically in line with the country’s economic growth rate. The simplest way to understand, the faster the economy develops, the more things are produced, the more boxes are needed, and corrugated packaging accounts for a significant proportion of the packaging area. For mainland China and Hong Kong, its economic growth is highly correlated with the output of corrugators, especially the development of domestic and export markets for light industries such as food, beverages, appliances and toys. The demand for corrugated paper machines has increased or decreased. Pretty much affected.
China’s economy has maintained rapid growth in recent years and is expected to maintain this momentum in the next three years. Although the future of the United States, the main trading country in the Chinese export market, is uncertain, the demand for corrugators should not have much impact. There is no significant change in the domestic market, and due to the enhanced environmental awareness, the recyclable nature of the corrugator will increase its market share. The share of corrugators in transport packaging will also increase, and this trend is expected to last for at least three years. Accordingly, the International Association of Corrugated Boards had predicted that China, including Hong Kong (the majority of its paper mills have been relocated to Guangdong Province, China), will have 16.5 billion square meters of output in 2004 and become Asia’s largest producer of corrugated paperboards (Japan’s two).
However, domestic senior professionals warn the carton industry that the current domestic paper machine output is far greater than the demand. The general lack of work, the paper mills do not need to blindly add equipment and expand the scale, should further focus on improving the quality and development of paper machine specifications to meet market demand. This is to meet the growing market demand for paper machines.
