2.3 Grafted product structure analysis and grafting certification

The FT-IR spectra of the modified pre-adhesive and the modified graft-copolymerized product are shown in Figure 4 and Figure 5. As can be seen from the figure, the modified graft copolymer product appeared at 1402 cm-1 except that the characteristic absorption peak of the peptide bond on the skeleton skeleton and other corresponding absorption peaks remained at 1610 cm-1 and 1529 cm-1. The C—O—C stretching vibration was obvious, and it was proved that there were ether bonds in the product molecule, indicating that epichlorohydrin had been grafted onto the bone glue molecule and polymerization occurred with the bone glue molecule.



2.4 The freezing point of the adhesive

In this test, the freezing point of the bone glue adhesive prepared by the traditional modification process was compared with the freezing point of the bone glue adhesive prepared by the new process. The test method was to separate the adhesive with the same viscosity but different modification methods. The method of 1.3 section 3) is tested, and the test comparison result is shown in FIG. 6 .


It can be seen from FIG. 6 that the freezing point of the adhesive prepared by such a new process of modifying the bone glue is much lower than that of the conventional modification process. The freezing point of the bone cement adhesive prepared by the traditional modification process is generally around room temperature, and the freezing point of the bone glue adhesive prepared by this new process is generally lower than 0° C. and the average is −5° C. This new method of modification greatly reduces the freezing point of the bone cement, due to the breakage of the polypeptide bond at certain points in the long chain of the bone glue molecule under alkaline conditions, resulting in small molecules within a certain molecular weight range, and the epoxy Chloropropane graft copolymerization results in a polymer material having a molecular structure different from that of a conventional modification method.


3 Conclusion

1) Bone glue adhesive is a kind of wood and paper adhesive with broad application prospects. The main advantages are green, environmental protection, non-toxic, non-polluting and low cost. The disadvantage is that it is solid at room temperature and inconvenient to use.
2) The product of graft copolymerization of bone glue and epichlorohydrin was determined by infrared spectroscopy. The optimum synthetic process of the new bone modification process was as follows: the ratio of water to gel was 1:1, the amount of NaOH was about 6% of the amount of bone glue, the alkaline hydrolysis temperature was 60%, the alkaline hydrolysis time was 0.5h, and the amount of epichlorohydrin was the amount of bone glue. 10%, graft copolymerization 1.5 ~ 2h.

3) The adhesive produced by such a new process for modification of bone cement has a significantly lower freezing point than that of the bone glue adhesive prepared by the conventional modification method, and is lower than 0° C., so it can maintain liquid state at room temperature.
