How to choose outdoor furnitures?--Xiangyuan Leisure

Many people don't put nearly as much thought into their outdoor furniture as they do with their indoor furniture. However, usually more people see the outside of your home than the inside so that makes it even more important to make sure it looks great. Use the tips below to make your outdoor space feel like an extension of the inside of your home.

Plan & Measure

Before buying furniture for your patio or outdoor space determine how the space will be used. Is it going to be a gathering space for lounging and relaxing or is it going to be a place where you sit down for dinner with your family and friends? There is a good chance that it might be used for both. Take measurements of the space so you'll know how much room you're working with before you buy any furniture.

Lounge Furniture

Outdoor furniture has come a long way in looks and comfort over the past several years. Some outdoor furniture looks very similar to indoor furniture like couches, sectionals, and ottomans. You can set up an outdoor living room if your space allows. Most outdoor furniture comes with cushions that are weatherproof. But, be aware of how the seat cushions attach to the furniture. Is it recommended that it be removed when not in use or can you leave it out all season? It can be a pain to drag big and heavy cushions from an entire sectional in and out all season long. Also, do you have space to store the cushions when not in use?

Dining Sets

Outdoor dining sets come in all different shapes and sizes. Determine what shape will work best in your space. A small square patio will work better with a round table rather than a long rectangular shape. Your patio needs to be large enough that when the chair is pulled back from the table it isn't running into a railing or going off the patio into the landscape or yard. Do you throw large parties a lot and need extra seating? Consider choosing chairs that will stack so they can be stored easily when not in use. Find out how weatherproof the chair pads are so you can avoid the dragging in and out of chair pads all the time.

Umbrellas

Don't forget about the details. Is your outdoor space sunny? You'll need an outdoor umbrella. There are free standing umbrellas and there are umbrellas that work best with a dining table. Can your space be shaded by one umbrella or will you need two? Most of the larger free-standing umbrellas come with their own base but the dining table umbrellas need a separate base that is usually not included. Make sure to buy a base or your umbrella will likely blow out of your table and possibly break something or worse, injure someone.

Outdoor Storage Containers

Even if don't have to bring your seat cushions in after every use there will still be times when it needs to be stored, especially if you live in a cold winter location or you know a storm is coming. You will likely be able to leave the furniture frames outside but it's a good idea to buy fitted furniture tarps to put over them to keep the elements off the frames. Sometimes you can leave the cushions on under the tarps. If not, consider buying an outdoor storage container. These outdoor storage containers come in all different shapes and sizes. They will hold several seat cushions and other outdoor items if needed. The storage containers come in a variety of colors to match the outside of your home.

Taking the time to plan your outdoor space before you buy your furniture will potentially save you from trouble down the road. You won't be dragging chair pads in and out before and after each use. Also, since you've measured and planned for storage everything should fit nicely when in use and when put away.
