Jiahe Industrial Launches New High Barrier Multilayer Packaging

Jiahe Industrial (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. has launched a new high-barrier multilayer packaging that can extend the shelf life of the best-selling corn hot dog sausage produced by Linyi Xincheng Jinyu Meat Products Co., Ltd. This packaging technology enables corn hot dog guts to maintain freshness in demanding, high humidity environments and is the first polyolefin/SARAN coextruded film to be used in global meat processing.

Jinbu Meat Products Co., Ltd. produces corn hot dog sausage products containing 3-5% of natural corn ingredients. This gives the corn hot dogs a sweet taste while also increasing their moisture content. Jiahe Industrial's new packaging design utilizes SARAN polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) film to maintain product freshness and maintain high barrier properties when exposed to moisture in products or exposed to high humidity in Southeast China. .

In addition, such films tend to be more cost effective because they eliminate or reduce the stacking or coating process necessary to achieve the barriers and other functions required for a variety of different applications. The superior barrier properties of SARAN PVDC membranes also lead to the possibility of lowering material standards, which can reduce overall costs.

This innovative packaging has won the “Highest Honor Award” from the DuPont China Packaging Awards 2005, in recognition of its new technology for the simultaneous processing of temperature-sensitive and non-thermosensitive resins with process temperature differences in the extrusion molding process. Through the use of multi-layer insulation technology in the equipment, Jiahe Industrial can produce effective structures in a one-step process to meet the functional requirements of sausage packaging.
