Korea Discovers New Uses of Polyurethane Films

Kymlg Byung yoon, a professor at Sogang University in South Korea, and his assistant found that the synthesis of polysilicon in the Silocate-1 type zeolite can be controlled by using a uniform matching polyurethane membrane as a template. It has also been found that the crystal orientation can be changed by changing the polyurethane film used. By changing the alkalinity of the gel used for the polyurethane film, the ordering of crystals of different shapes and sizes can be increased. They hope that these results will help open up the application of zeolite in new materials and new equipment.
