Nanchang University: Chen Liang straw can produce wood adhesive

Nanchang University in Jiangxi Province has successfully developed a new type of wood production technology in December 2003. This technology can be used to convert yellowing, deteriorating rice, rice straw, and bamboo vine into a non-polluting wood adhesive.
This new technology featuring environmental protection, regeneration, and high efficiency uses a biomass liquefaction process to liquefy yellow rice metamorphosed rice, rice straw, and bamboo larvae at high temperatures at normal pressure and at the reflux temperature of liquefied chemicals. No alcohol, then bio-polyol as the basic raw material, multi-organic acid as a cross-linker to produce a new type of non-polluting wood adhesive. There is no need for any separation and purification steps in the production process, and no “three wastes” pollution is generated. It is reported that the conversion rate in the liquefaction process is close to 100%, and the equipment is simple and miniaturized, with less investment and quick results.
According to authoritative inspections, the technology produces wood adhesives free of formaldehyde and free phenols, and its bonding strength meets the standards of Type II plywood. The performance is the same as that of phenolic resins and can be used for the production of environment-friendly plywood and environmentally-friendly particle board. market expectation.
