New diagnostic packaging is coming soon

Recently, international drug company Novartis is testing a new type of diagnostic packaging. This type of packaging is mainly used for pharmaceutical packaging, and this technology will be used with blister packs to package Diovan 160, a drug that treats high blood pressure. The two-month trial will track 250 patients and 20 drugs in the Netherlands. The role of this kind of packaging is to supervise patients who use this packaged drug to take medication on time.

The new diagnostic packaging was developed by Swedish technology company Cypak exclusively for Novartis. Danevert Ã…sbrink, deputy general manager of sales at Cypak, said that once the trial is successful, the technology will be fully promoted. He also said that Cyakk and Novartis will continue to cooperate in the research of other pharmaceutical packaging types.

Although the trial is still in progress, according to Åsbrink, the patient’s response to this technique has been very good so far, because the patient is able to take the medication more regularly after using this medicine. Although RFID has the problem of divulging user privacy, so far there has been no question of using such packaged user complaints to be tracked.
