400m track and field venue elevation is how to control?

The elevation of the 400m track and field facility must strictly follow the design documentation. In some cases, the design may provide relative elevations, such as ±0.00m referenced to the top of the gutter cover plate on-site. To ensure proper alignment between the site and the permanent structures during construction, and to maintain the correct relationship between the drainage ditch and the municipal sewer system, a thorough review of the design is essential. It's crucial to verify how the site's elevation correlates with the ±0.00m reference and then determine the exact height of the inner ring ditch cover based on that. To achieve this, permanent benchmarks are introduced into the track and field area. Two temporary benchmarks are established in the opposite direction of the track. Each benchmark consists of a 50cm x 50cm x 70cm concrete block, with a steel pile driven into the center. The top of the pile is set at the same level as the inner ring ditch cover, which is assumed to be at ±0.00m for construction purposes. These two points are cross-checked once a month to ensure accuracy. For visual reference, please see the diagram below.

This method ensures consistency throughout the construction process and minimizes the risk of elevation errors. By maintaining regular checks and using clearly defined benchmarks, the project team can confidently align all elements of the site with the design specifications. This approach is especially important when working with complex infrastructure systems like drainage networks and permanent buildings, where even small discrepancies can lead to significant issues later on.
