The accuracy of the electromagnetic flowmeter has been calibrated by the calibration line when it leaves the factory. However, at the site of use, due to environmental conditions, fluid characteristics, and instrument operation failures such as damage to components, it is necessary to perform a routine on-site calibration for the flowmeter after long-term use. Because the sensor of the electromagnetic flowmeter is installed on the pipeline, it is difficult to remove it and send it to the calibration line for inspection. At present, within the flow measurement range, the country and localities have not yet had on-site inspection procedures and other regulations for large-caliber flowmeters on site file. In order to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the electromagnetic flowmeter after fault repair and long-term use, without affecting daily production, Jiangsu Aikete Instrument Co., Ltd. launched the following online calibration methods:
1. Conduct a safe insulation test on the excitation coil of the electromagnetic flowmeter, which should be greater than 20MΩ.
2. The copper resistance test of the excitation coil of the electromagnetic flowmeter should be the same as the original factory value (when the ambient temperature is the same).
3. Test the resistance of the electromagnetic flowmeter sensor electrode to the ground. If the resistance value is between 2-20kf and is accompanied by charging and discharging, the resistance of the two electrodes is similar, it is considered good.
4. Test the excitation current of the electromagnetic flowmeter converter, observe its output and the converter's original current value, the error does not exceed ± 0. 25mA
5. Test the analog output and frequency output of the electromagnetic flowmeter converter, observe its linear change, and calculate its maximum linear error, which should not exceed ± 0.5%.
6. For electromagnetic flowmeters above DN 1200mm, the push level NB shall be tested, and the current error shall not exceed 12mA.
