In this paper, the Labthink FDT-02 rubbing tester was used to perform the rubbing test on the aluminum foil used to make the mask packaging aluminum foil bag, and the results of the rubbed samples were evaluated using the turpentine method. 1. Significance

2. Test basis

At present, there are no domestic standards related to the rubbing resistance of flexible plastic packaging. The test procedure is based on the American standard ASTM F392.

3. Test samples

The test sample used in this test is the aluminum foil layer used in the packaging of aluminum foil bags for facial masks.

4. Test equipment

The test equipment used in this article is the FDT-02 rubbing tester independently developed and produced by Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd.

4.1 Test principle

This equipment simulates the possible rubbing effect of the flexible plastic packaging material sample during use, and rubs the sample in both the horizontal and vertical directions. The strength of the rubbing can be determined by selecting different rubbing modes (different rubbing times). There are two main methods for evaluating the resistance to rubbing of samples. One is determined by comparing the barrier properties of the samples before and after rubbing. The samples with good rubbing resistance have little change in barrier properties before and after rubbing, while the samples with poor rubbing resistance rub. The barrier after is much lower than before rubbing; the other is the analysis of the rubbed sample using the turpentine method. If there are pinholes that penetrate the entire sample, turpentine spots will be formed on the white paper. The comparison of the size can get the rubbing resistance of the sample.

4.2 Device parameters

Rubbing frequency: 45 times / minute.

Kneading angle: 440 ° or 400 °.

Horizontal travel: 155 mm or 80 mm.

4.3 Scope of application

(1) Films: suitable for the rubbing resistance test of plastic films, sheets, and composite films, such as various composite films for packaging, aluminized films, aluminum-plastic composite films, nylon films, and coating films.

(2) Paper: It is suitable for the anti-kneading performance test of paper materials.

(3) Standard: Meet ASTM F392.

5. Test process

(1) Cut three 200 mm × 280 mm rectangular samples from the sample surface of the aluminum foil layer for the aluminum foil bag of the mask.

(2) Wrap three pieces of sample on the three pairs of rotating shafts of the rubbing tester, and fix the sample with a fixing clip.

(3) Choose the appropriate rubbing mode, this time choose C mode.

(4) Start the test, after reaching the set number of kneading times, the device will automatically stop and remove 3 samples.

(5) Cut one sample of 150 mm × 200 mm from each of the three samples after rubbing.

(6) Take a piece of white paper and lay it flat on the test board, then put one of the 150 mm × 200 mm samples on the white paper, apply the prepared turpentine to the surface of the sample repeatedly, and let it stand for 1 minute After that, remove the sample and observe whether there are red spots on the white paper and the size and number of spots.

(7) Repeat the operation of (6) until the three samples are tested.

6. Test results

There are more than 4 spots with diameters ranging from 3 mm to 5 mm in diameter on 3 sheets of white paper, which shows that under the rubbing effect of C mode, penetrating pinholes appear on the surface of the sample, tested in this test The sample has poor rub resistance.

7. Conclusion

The rubbing resistance of the aluminum foil used in the mask foil packaging is an extremely important performance index. The value of this index determines the barrier properties of the mask foil packaging after being rubbed by external force during use.
