“A Water Storm†Hits the Industry
On July 21st, Henan Yabao Furniture Co., Ltd., known as the "leading goose" in the Henan furniture sector, celebrated the completion of its new factory in Quliang and held a grand annual product ordering meeting. However, just hours later, an unexpected "black swan" event shook the market.
A post titled “Yabao Furniture Stuck in Solid Wood, Employees Expose Internal Secrets†appeared online and quickly spread across major media platforms. The allegations claimed that high-end solid wood products, such as the “Tiger Wood Rhyme†series, were being manufactured using a mix of solid wood and veneer, falsely labeled as 100% solid wood. This revelation sparked widespread public concern.
As one of the most prominent names in the Henan furniture industry, Yabao Furniture found itself suddenly under intense scrutiny. Some critics compared the situation to the Da Vinci furniture scandal, questioning whether Yabao was following a similar path. Others argued that the company’s recent expansion into solid wood furniture might be premature, especially after the Da Vinci incident.
While not all are convinced of wrongdoing, the growing skepticism highlights the need for greater transparency and accountability in the furniture industry. As the debate continues, the incident serves as a cautionary tale for companies aiming to break through in a competitive market.
