On July 21st, Henan Yabao Furniture Co., Ltd., known as the "leading goose" in the Henan furniture industry, celebrated the completion of its new factory in Quliang and held a grand annual product ordering meeting. However, this day also marked an unexpected turning point for another key player—Albemarle Furniture.
That same day, an online post titled “Yabao Furniture Caught in Solid Wood Scandal, Employees Expose Internal Secrets†spread across major media platforms. The article alleged that high-end solid wood furniture from Yabao, such as the “Tiger Wood Rhyme†series, was being produced using a mix of solid wood and veneer, misleading consumers into believing they were purchasing premium solid wood products. This revelation caused a significant stir in the market.
As a leading brand in the Henan furniture sector, Yabao now finds itself at the center of public scrutiny. Some critics are drawing comparisons to Da Vinci Furniture, a well-known case of fraud in the Chinese furniture industry. Others argue that Yabao's recent expansion and move into solid wood furniture might be a risky step, especially after the Da Vinci scandal.
