According to Taiwan's "China Times" reported on June 2, US study that the 20-year-olds if insist on running, exercise cardiopulmonary function, can protect the brain. Young people's exercise habits will become the healthy capital of middle-aged and old people. When they enter middle age, their thinking ability and memory will be better and help prevent cognitive disorders.

In 1985 , the University of Minnesota research team studied 2,747 healthy adults aged 18 to 30 years old. In the test of the cardiopulmonary function of the subjects, the researchers asked them to run at full speed on the treadmill until they could not run or pant, and the subjects could run for an average of 10 minutes. Twenty years later, the researchers asked the subjects to perform the same running test, and the subjects ran an average of 2.9 minutes less. Five years later, the researchers asked participants to participate in visual memory tests to test their cognitive abilities, including language memory, the speed of brain control, and ability to perform. In the language memory test, the researchers asked the subjects to take a look at 15 words and recall them 10 minutes later. In the speed test of brain-dominated movements, the researchers asked the subjects to remember some meaningless symbols. In the performance test, ask the subject to make a brain teasing, such as writing the word " yellow " with a green pen, and then ask the subject what the color of the pen is.

The study found that in the first run test 25 years ago, for every one- minute run, the correctness of the language memory test was 0.12 words, and the meaning of the meaningless symbol instead of the number was 0.92 more. In the two tests before and after, the smaller the difference in running time, the better the performance in the performance test. If people remember one more word in the memory test, the risk of cognitive impairment will drop by 18% after 10 years. The research director Dr. Jacob pointed out that from the test results, it can be seen that aerobic exercise such as running, swimming and cycling is beneficial to brain health and can reduce the risk of cognitive impairment.

Coincidentally, a new study by the University of Tsukuba and the Central University in Japan also showed that only 10 minutes of jogging per day can improve cognitive function. This study is the first to confirm that mild physical activity can also bring good health benefits to the brain, which is undoubtedly good news for the elderly.

It’s always good to be young when you are young.
