Flint is overwhelmed with ink prices again

The Flint Group recently announced that due to the continuous rise in raw materials, energy and transportation costs, the company decided to increase the price of ink products in North America from October 1, 2007.

It is understood that the specific increase of various products of the company is as follows:

Intaglio Printing Inks - Up 10%
Thermosetting Inks - 8% Growth
New ink - up 6%
Sheetfed inks - between 5% and 7% depending on the technology and color of the product.
Packaging inks - up to 12% or more, depending on the technology and color of the product.

Bill Miller, president of the Flint Group North America Company, commented that the increase in the global consumption of petroleum and petroleum derivatives and limited refining capacity are still the main reasons for rising raw material costs. In addition, the measures recently taken by the Chinese government to shut down chemical factories to reduce pollution have also played a role in fueling the situation. As a result, the global printing ink industry has been strongly impacted.

Miller said: "In the next two weeks, we will send representatives to negotiate with customers on ink price increases."
