The transaction is then processed by the backend system. The hardware and software components involved in this process are collectively referred to as mPOS. The term "mobile" in mPOS highlights the mobility aspect of the product. It refers to the use of mobile communication devices in card payment processing and the portability of the dedicated terminal itself. However, it’s important to note that mPOS is not the same as the commonly used term "mobile POS" in the domestic market.
