1. Selection of wire mesh:

Need to consider the ink used in three factors:

â‘ General water-based ink is suitable for thicker screens (125-180 mesh / inch) (inch is the unit of length 1inch = 1000mil = 2.54cm = 25.4mm); â‘¡Solvent ink is used for medium-sized mesh when printing advertisements, electrical appliances, etc. Silk screen (196-420 mesh / inch); â‘¢ UV ink uses a high mesh screen (355-457 mesh / inch); â‘£ the pigment particles of general ink are relatively fine, the ink passability is good, this ink uses high mesh It can also pass well when counting the screen; and the ink with high pigment concentration, although fine particles, but its permeability will be relatively poor.

Types of substrates:

â‘ The rough surface of the absorbent substrate requires more ink to achieve the best coverage of the ink layer, so a thicker screen is used; â‘¡The smooth surface of the non-absorbent substrate requires a relatively large amount of ink Less, so choose a higher mesh screen.

The screen mesh number matches the original image: the screen mesh number selected should be sufficient for the image on the plate film, that is, ensure that the finest image area has sufficient screen support. (The width of the thinnest line that can be printed by a certain mesh is equal to the sum of the mesh aperture and the diameter of the mesh, plus the expansion of about 7% when the mesh is woven. (Eg: 180 mesh / inch mesh, The mesh aperture is 23μm, the wire diameter is 30μm, and the width of the thinnest line printed = 23 + 30 + (23 + 30) × 7% ≈57μm. This shows that the finest screen can only print 57 micron lines, and there is also a The formula is that the screen can print the smallest dot (or line) thickness = √2 * (1 + mesh number * wire diameter) ÷ mesh number).

Second, the choice of wire diameter: two aspects must be considered, â‘  the tensile strength of the wire mesh. â‘¡The fineness of the original.

When the mesh number is the same, the larger the wire diameter, the stronger the tensile strength, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance. It is hoped that the thickness will be larger and the opening area (opening ratio) will be smaller. When the original size of the original image is twice the wire diameter, the dots may fall on the silk screen, and the dot loss in the highlight area is heavy. When the dots are 3 times the wire diameter, any part of the dots can get enough support, and the dark tone dots can also get enough opening area.

3. The issues that should be paid attention to when selecting wire mesh:

Uneven weaving; uneven thickness of the wire mesh; the cost of selecting the wire mesh; pay attention to the moire:
