New technology for deacidification of lubricating oil by ionic liquid method passed review

Recently, the "Ionic Liquid Method Lubricant Deacidification New Technology" jointly developed by the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing Yanshan Branch of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation passed the technical review hosted by the Science and Technology Development Department of China Petrochemical Corporation. The assessment committee is composed of 15 review experts including Academician Hou Fusheng, Academician He Mingyuan, and Academician Shu Xingtian, as well as more than 20 experts from Sinopec Lubricant Company and Refining Enterprises. The experts at the meeting listened to the technical report of the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the work report of the refinery of Yanshan Branch, and the design report of the 250,000-ton / year lubricating oil deacidification device process package of Yanshan Yulong Engineering Company. The expert group believes that "the new technology of ionic liquid method for deacidification of lubricating oil" is a domestic and international initiative, with independent intellectual property rights and free operation rights. The traditional lubricating oil deacidification process mainly adopts the hydrogenation method. This method has harsh operating conditions, high energy consumption, and a large amount of hydrogen consumption. The existing equipment can no longer meet the increasing needs of processing high-acid crude oil; meanwhile, Sinopec Yanshan The lubricant base oil produced by the branch company has been unable to meet the requirements of the Great Wall Lubricant Company for lubricant quality due to its high acid value. To this end, Sinopec Yanshan Branch cooperated with the Green Chemistry and Technology Group of the Institute of Processes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to jointly develop the "New Technology of Deacidification of Lubricants by Ionic Liquid Method". The new technology uses the "ion switch" principle to make the deacidifier and petroleum acid generate ionic liquid to achieve the purpose of separation. The technology has the characteristics of high product yield, low energy consumption, no waste alkali residue discharge, mild process operating conditions, etc. At the same time, it can obtain high value-added naphthenic acid products, with good economic and environmental benefits. The acid value of the treated lubricating oil meets the quality requirements of HVI1b and HVI1c. The new device does not consume hydrogen, has a small footprint, no special material requirements, low equipment investment and operating costs, and a short construction period. It has obvious advantages.

In the joint research, the Institute of Processes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences mainly conducted in-depth research on the design and selection of deacidification agents, optimization of process conditions and optimization and integration of the entire system. Designed and developed an efficient, cheap, and environmentally friendly deacidification agent; obtained key data such as thermodynamics, kinetics, and optimized process parameters of the deacidification reaction through laboratory research, applied for multiple patents, and published many papers. Through the design of the reaction and separation device, a continuous test device was established, and optimized continuous test data was obtained, which provided a basis for the design of the process package and device. Sinopec Yanshan Branch has carried out a lot of work in the quality analysis and detection of oil samples, determination of process routes, etc., and on the basis of small laboratory tests and continuous experiments, combined with the specific conditions of Yanshan Petrochemical Lubricating Oil Section, completed 250,000 tons / year Lubricant deacidification process package and device design, as well as construction drawings of field equipment and pipeline preparation. In this R & D process, the two parties communicated in time and worked together to solve problems, and achieved the integration of industry, education and research in the industrial sense through complementary advantages. The successful development of this project will provide a feasible new way to solve the processing of acidic crude oil in China.
