In general, engineering plastics use 1.82, such as nylon, PET, PBT, etc., commonly used in low temperature deformation of 0.45, PP, PE, PS, etc. For the same plastic, such as nylon, the temperature measured by 1.82 is generally lower than 0.45. The thermal deformation and Vicat can be measured on the same instrument, except that the indenter is different from the load. Vicat's indenter is a needle with an area of ​​1 mm2, and the thermal deformation is an axe indenter with a certain arc.

Softening point: The temperature at which a substance softens. Mainly refers to the temperature at which the amorphous polymer begins to soften. It is not only related to the structure of the polymer, but also to the size of its molecular weight. There are many methods of measurement. The measurement methods are different, and the results are often inconsistent. More commonly used are Vicat and Global Law.
