3. **Essential Oil Extraction**: For extracting volatile oils, the medicinal material and water containing the oils are added to the tank. The oil separator’s circulation valve is opened, and the bypass return valve is adjusted. The heating source is turned on until the desired temperature for volatilization is reached. Cooling water is then applied to condense the vapor, allowing the oil to separate in the oil-water separator. This process is often repeated using alternating separators for maximum yield.
4. **Solvent Recovery**: When recovering solvents like alcohol, the solvent is added to the tank, and the steam cooling system is activated. The recovery valve is then opened, allowing the vaporized solvent to be condensed and collected for reuse.
