Chair types are commonly referred to as armchairs or standard chairs, depending on their structure. Armchairs typically feature additional support for the arms, while standard chairs may not. The chair is generally assembled using a seat back, seat cushion, front legs, and frame armrests, connected with screws, dowels, and cam locks. Seat Cushion
1. Seat cushions are typically made from two main materials: leather or fabric upholstery. Each material offers different aesthetics and comfort levels, making them suitable for various design styles.
2. The seat cushion is positioned at the top of the seat frame, serving as the primary contact point for the user. It is mainly attached to the seat frame using four-corner connections. A 8#*1" fast tooth is often used to secure the bottom plate of the cushion, ensuring a strong and stable attachment.
3. The general construction of a seat cushion includes: leather or fabric covering, foam padding (typically 30-40mm thick, though this can vary based on design requirements), 18mm plywood (which should be collapsed internally for better fit), and a double layer of woven cloth for added durability and comfort.
4. The cushion’s upper surface is covered with leather or fabric, while the lower part is fixed with horse nails. The stitching must be smooth, even, and straight, with no visible bends or irregularities. This ensures a professional finish and long-lasting use.
5. The sponge used in the cushion must conform to the shape of the base plate. It should provide enough flexibility to return to its original form after being compressed, offering both comfort and support.

6. The frame is usually constructed from high-quality plywood that can withstand drop impact tests. To prevent air pockets from forming under the cushion, it is common to hollow out parts of the frame or add ventilation holes in the middle.
7. If the frame design requires hollowing in the center, additional horizontal and vertical support bands should be included to enhance the foam’s elasticity and overall performance.
8. The woven fabric on the back of the seat cushion is placed behind the entire cushion and helps conceal internal imperfections. Nails along the edges should be evenly spaced and not visible to maintain a clean appearance.
9. In most cases, the woven fabric on the back of the seat cushion should not be visible along the edges of the seat frame, unless there are special design instructions. This ensures a neat and professional look when the chair is assembled.
