Test Procedure - Drip Test Device According to GJB150.8A-2008 Standard
1. Place the test item inside the test chamber in accordance with its normal operational configuration. Ensure all connections and fittings are properly secured, and verify that both the test item and the water used in the test are at a temperature of no less than 10°C. If necessary, adjust the temperature of the test item or lower the water temperature to achieve the required temperature differential.
2. Operate the test item while it is exposed to a uniform rainfall for 15 minutes. The rain should be delivered from a height of at least 1 meter, measured from the upper front surface of the test item or any other specified location. All upper surfaces of the test item must be simultaneously subjected to water droplets during the test. For test items with glass-covered gauges, position them at a 45-degree angle with the scale facing upward to ensure proper exposure.
3. After completing the 15-minute exposure, carefully remove the test item from the chamber. Remove sufficient panels or covers to inspect for internal water penetration.
4. Conduct a visual inspection of the test item to identify any signs of water leakage or seepage.
5. Measure any free water that has collected inside the test item and document the findings in detail.
6. Perform functional testing of the test item based on the specifications outlined in the technical documentation and record the results accordingly.
This procedure outlines the standard method for conducting a drip test as defined in GJB150.8A-2008. It ensures that the test item is evaluated under controlled conditions to determine its resistance to water ingress.
