1. The printer is directly connected to the router. Ensure the printer is powered on, and connect the network cable from the router to the printer's LAN port. Install the POS80 driver, add a TCP/IP port, enter the printer's IP address, then click Next and Finish. Select the newly added port and apply the changes to establish a connection.
a. To view the printer's IP address, check the self-test page. This page typically displays all essential information about the printer, including its current IP address.
b. To find your computer's IP address and default gateway, open the Network and Sharing Center. If it doesn't appear, click on Properties and navigate to the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) settings to view the details.
After locating the computer's IP address, you can proceed to configure the printer. Open Internet Explorer and type the printer's IP address into the address bar. This will bring up the printer's configuration interface.
In the "Configuration Device IP Address" section, you can update or modify the printer's IP address as needed. After saving the changes, the printer should be ready to join the local area network (LAN) and communicate with the computer.
Before making any changes to the IP address, it's a good idea to check for potential IP conflicts within the LAN. To do this, click Start, type CMD, and press Enter to open the Command Prompt. Then, type "ping [IP address]" and press Enter. If the ping is successful, it means the IP is available and not in use by another device.
This process ensures that both the printer and the computer are on the same network and can communicate effectively. Make sure all cables are securely connected and the printer is properly configured through the driver software. Once everything is set up, you should be able to print without any issues.
