According to the new product information released by Japan’s Oji Paper Co., Ltd., the company recently developed a high-grade paper that can be stored for 1,000 years without deterioration.
Plain paper containing residual lignin is extremely susceptible to aging by the corrosion of acidic gases, and high quality paper will age and deteriorate decades later.
Oji Paper Co. uses a special drug to bleach the pulp twice, greatly reducing the amount of lignin left, thus preventing paper aging and improving the paper's whiteness. Using it to write or print academic papers, yearbooks, dictionaries, etc., can basically be preserved for thousands of years without aging fading.
