Miami Beach's beloved hotel, The Raleigh, is set to become part of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts' prestigious portfolio following a meticulously planned renovation led by the esteemed real estate development firm SHVO . Acclaimed architect and interior designer Peter Marino has been entrusted with the property’s eagerly awaited restoration, paying homage to the vibrant Art Deco District and the hotel’s storied past.
Designed in the 1940s by Miami architect Lawrence Murray Dixon , Rosewood The Raleigh will be enhanced with the integration of its neighboring historic buildings, the Richmond and South Seas Hotels . Each building's iconic Art Deco facade will be carefully preserved and incorporated into the 60-room and suite property. Adjacent to The Raleigh, the contemporary new tower will house the Rosewood Residences Miami Beach featuring 44 private homes with breathtaking ocean views and prime ocean proximity.
Collaborating closely with the Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board , the restoration will emphasize a thorough refurbishment that highlights Miami's most famous swimming pool, known for its curvaceous design and lush tropical foliage. The Raleigh’s cherished gathering spots, the Martini Bar and Tiger Room , will be revitalized with a nod to Miami’s timeless Art Deco elegance and modern spirit. The hotel will also introduce Asaya , Rosewood’s innovative wellness concept.
The tower’s exterior boasts white columns and black mullions creating a rhythmic pattern while maximizing natural light, fresh air, and ocean vistas through generous windows. Inside, a tranquil color scheme featuring artisanal plasters , hand-painted millwork , and noble stones with meticulous details offers a serene and luxurious space for residents. Just steps away lies Florida’s renowned South Beach nightlife and the iconic landmarks of the Art Deco district. Explore nearby Lincoln Road or enjoy dining in downtown Miami.
