At the Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition in May 2005, Heidelberg exhibited the new Varimatrix 105 CS die-cutting machine (CS means die-cutting and waste removal). This machine is an entry-level solution designed for packaging and printing companies and is extremely cost-effective. Dymatrix 106 CSB, another die-cutting machine, appeared at the drupa show last year. Its automatic die-cutting, stripping and unlinking can meet the stringent requirements of manufacturers at a production speed of 9000 sheets per hour. The arrival of Varimatrix 105 CS makes Heidelberg's product line more abundant and complete, and can better meet the various needs of users.
Varimatrix 105 CS can handle 80 g and above paper, 1400 g solid paperboard, and corrugated paperboard up to 4 mm (0.16 inch) thick. Its production speed can reach 7500 sheets per hour, and the maximum die cutting pressure is 300 tons. The paper format can vary from 370X400 mm to 750X1050 mm. Starting in early 2006, Varimatrix 105 CS will be available in markets in Asia, Europe, Central America and South America.
As a cost-effective solution to enter the die-cutting processing market, Varimatrix 105 CS's outstanding performance stems from its extremely high production flexibility and extremely short job preparation time. The user guide displayed on the touch screen ensures easy operation, and even the processing of short-form jobs is equally effective. The blade frame is designed for different die cutting sizes. At the same time, the existing die cutting blades can also play a full role. Varimatrix 105 CS also carries a pre-stacking device, which can accurately align the paper manually before feeding to ensure reliable die cutting. The double-sheet detector on the Feida ensures smooth and accurate feeding. In order to improve the accuracy of processing operations, the side gauges on both sides of the machine can be directly converted between the push and pull modes. On the die-cutting platform, the waste removal work is completed by special tools or needle up and down. Each gripper can be opened separately, so that the finished product can be placed on the receiving table accurately and neatly. The waste sheet at the mouth will be automatically transferred to the designated waste sheet collection place by the conveyor belt.
Varimatrix 105 CS will meet users for the first time at the Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition. It is the result of the cooperation between Heidelberg and Taiwan SBL and the first product designed by both parties for the packaging and printing market.
