Discussion on Some Issues in the Printing of Tobacco Marks

Our company's main business is the printing of cigarette labels. The following are some of the problems that have arisen when using multi-color offset printing machines to print cigarette labels and the corresponding solutions. They are listed for reference by peers.

1. Printing coated paper

Soft pack cigarette inner boxes use more coated paper. This type of paper has a large amount of paint on the surface and the paper is tight. The elasticity and compressibility are poor, and the ink absorption is not high. Therefore, the pressure in the printing should not be too large: the ink color of the spot color ink. Can slightly adjust the depth of children, and the printing ink is slightly smaller, while the spray should be slightly larger, to prevent the back of the dirty. The upper side of the collection board should not be too tight, especially when the edge of the printed sheet is a large area. It is necessary to pay attention to the fact that the Ningken paper piles are a little bit uneven, and the printed materials should not be dirty because of excessive crowding.

When printing gold and silver ink, it may cause piles of blankets because the viscosity of gold and silver ink is too high. At this time, it is necessary to clean the blanket as soon as possible. Otherwise, the Foundation of the printing plate will be easily damaged, and a proper amount of gold dip oil will be added to dilute the ink. Some paper's coating layer is not firmly bonded to the base paper, and it is easy to remove powder. At this time, it is necessary to pay attention to it. If there is any carelessness, you need to replace the gold plate.

When the thin paper is overprinted, special attention must be paid to the positioning position of the side pull gauge, so that both sides of the paper can be pinched by the grippers as much as possible. If there is a long piece of paper that is not effectively controlled by the grippers, there will be a slight displacement of the trailing parts of the prints, which will cause ghosting. In severe cases, the prints will wrinkle.

2. Printing white paper

Cigarette paper boxes use white paper. When printing such papers, care must be taken to ensure that the printed images are not scratched by the transfer roller. It can be solved by the method of adding elastic gaskets for die cutting on the transfer roller. First indent a registered sheet into the machine, and then take a piece of elastic liner, tear off the protective paper, apply glue on the non-stick side, stick it in the blank area of the sheet, and then jog the machine to make The elastic pad is adhered to the transfer roller so that the elastic pad in the printing can separate the print and the transfer roller to prevent the print from scratching.

White cardboard flip clamshell box can also be used to prevent scratches.

Such thick paper should not be set too early (especially the new machine) when the paper is delivered. Otherwise, the printed product may not reach the front plate and fall down, touching the printed paper on the pile Products. Since the print sheet continues to move due to the inertia and the rotating thrust of the suction wheel, it is easy to scratch the printed material on the delivery pile. Such scratches can never be detected by the method of sampling inspection during the printing process. When the inspection personnel of the subsequent process finds it, they may have suffered heavy losses.

3. Printing gold and silver cardboard

Many advanced cigarettes use silver and gold cardboard, which are very fragile and easily scratched. The paper must be handled lightly; the paper nozzle must also be raised as far as possible, otherwise the paper nozzle may scratch the paper when the paper is returned to the take-up roller; the side setting mechanism is best adjusted. Move to a position that is not in motion so as not to scratch the printed product due to the crowding.

4. Printing large area on the ground

Cigarette packaging often uses a large area in the design. When the version of this type of printing plate comes out of print, it can be scratched by a knife, and a small amount of 502 glue can be used to Make Up for the effect.

Sometimes the sand in the paper is transferred to the ink roller and a circumferential long mark is scratched on the plate. Under normal circumstances, merely changing the printing plate can not solve the problem. When the printing is obvious, the ink roller must be removed and rubbed with a fine sandpaper to wipe off the sand embedded in the depth of the rubber roller.

As for other things such as paste, ghosting. Problems such as wrinkling, inaccurate overprinting, ink bars, etc., have been extensively discussed in literature and will not be repeated here.
