According to the IDC Global Print Peripheral Quarterly Tracking Report, the total printer revenue of the Philippines in the 2013 quarter reached US$48.2 million, a year-on-year increase of 34.5%, a record high.
Among them, the total shipments of single-function printers, multi-function printers and copiers were approximately 233,400 units, compared with 174,000 units shipped in the same period last year. Inkjet printer shipments accounted for 80% of total shipments in the first quarter, while laser printers and string dot matrix printers accounted for 12.9% and 7.0%, respectively. IDC expects the Philippines' printing peripherals market to grow by 5.3% in 2013 and shipments will reach 802,000 units.

Sumanga believes that economic growth and increased demand have driven the growth of the printer market in the Philippines. Both inkjet printers and laser printers achieved double-digit year-on-year growth rates.
Between 2011 and 2012, the decline in the printer market in the Philippines was due to changes in production lines, supplier strategies and end-user consumer behavior. Comparing the good development trend of the Philippine market, the Asia-Pacific market has been declining for six consecutive quarters, down 7.6% year-on-year.
