Injection Molders Use New TPE Technology to Shorten Processing Cycles

In the near future, injection molding processors will be able to significantly reduce the processing cycle by adopting a new technology when processing Santoprene thermoplastic rubber. Using this technology not only can significantly reduce the cost of producing a single part, but also increase the processing capacity of injection molding.

In conjunction with this advanced processing technology, a new Santoprene TPE series will soon appear with a new look and its processing speed will be 25% higher than the usual Santoprene rubber grades. These improved products with processability can also significantly reduce the production costs for injection molding processors. "By putting this latest Santoprene rubber technology into the market, ExxonMobil Chemical is helping processors to expand their business by enabling them to expand their production costs and increase their production capacity to produce more products," said AES Global Industrial Manager Lynn. × Manze said.

The key to shortening the cycle time is the adoption of a proprietary technology that can reduce the molding time when processing injection molded Santoprene rubber parts. “This rapid processing technology has further expanded the economic boundaries of choosing Santoprene rubber instead of thermoset rubber,” said Manze. Other advantages of choosing Santoprene rubber instead of thermosetting rubber include ease of processing, design flexibility, reliable part consistency, recyclability, and efficient use of waste – both in production conditions and after the life of the part scrap.
